Motorised Pergola Systems

Motorised pergolas turn terraces at hotels, restaurants, cafes and houses into rooms that can be used in every season. The aluminium structure is built for heavy winter weather, storm wind and snow load.

There are two types. A bioclimatic pergola has aluminium blades that rotate for ventilation and can retract to open the roof. A folding pergola uses a blackout fabric that stacks as it opens.

System Types and Equipment

Bioclimatic blades rotate on their own axis from 0° to 120°. They shade the space and let warm air out through a natural stack. On request, one control packs the blades back so about 85% of the roof is open sky.

The folding fabric pergola uses a three-layer PVC blackout cloth of about 850 g/m². It does not spread flame, it is fully waterproof and it cuts solar heat. A high-torque belt drive opens and closes the fabric quietly on aluminium rails.

Rain is collected in wide concealed aluminium gutters around the roof profiles. The water, and meltwater from snow, runs down inside the aluminium posts to ground level. No downpipe is visible outside.

The frame is reinforced so a motorised glass guillotine, sliding glass or a zip screen can be fixed directly to the perimeter, with no gap to pack.

Motors, Controls and Lighting

Radio-controlled tube or linear motors, Somfy, Becker or an equivalent, are used at 120 Nm to 200 Nm. They can be tied into a smart-home system and a phone app.

Linear LED strips are factory-set into the aluminium blades or the fabric profiles. A remote control dims the light. RGB versions are available.
